Favorite NY things #3

PANNA II Indian Restaurant is located in the East Village, 93 1st Ave between 5th and 6th. The food is not spectacular but above decent, but that's not why you should go. It's their crazy, kitschy decor that will reel you in, plus the happy birthday song the waiters sing for you if you are celebrating (or pretending to be)

Don't get it twisted, This place has been recommended by The New York Times and Washington Post. And if their tag line: "WHERE CHILI PEPPER LIGHTS MEET CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTS" doesn't make you want to go, I don't know what will.

The Birthday song-They turn the lights off and the waiters start dancing and it turns into some sort of weird Bollywood video.
